The Council talked <br />about having the Planning Commission review the sign ordinance <br />as it relates to seasonal, etc. As discussion ensued, it appeared <br />the consensus of the Council was that this would be a good <br />discussion for the workshop. Councilmember Zimmerman stated <br />he felt that with regard to Christmas Tree farms, the signs should <br />pertain more to the directional rather than to the price of the trees. <br /> <br />12/10/96 <br /> <br />With regard to the McLafferty CLIP for a group home, Council <br />directed staff to develop an action plan to amend McLafferty's <br />CUP to require an annual report fi.om the Volunteers of America <br />regarding McLafferty's licensing status and for collecting funds <br />due the City for processing the application in 1995 and <br />continued collection of costs incurred in administering the <br />permit -including the option of conciliation courk <br /> <br />1/28/97 <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman mentioned that the Bookstore is <br />not in compliance with our sign ordinance. Bookstore has <br />been notified. <br /> <br />Council granted final plat approval to Business Park 95 Fifth <br />Addition. Execute Development Agreement. <br /> <br />Council voted to authorize City staff to postpone any further <br />enforcement of the sunset clause on required site improvements in the <br />commercial districts until May 1, 1999. Ms. Hill asked if they are <br />supposed to come back in after the comp plan is done and <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen hoped they would be a part of the <br />meetings to discuss the Highway #10 corridor with regard to the <br />comp plan. She added that there would be public notification of these <br />meetings. <br /> <br /> Research townships and other cities regarding the scope and <br /> structure of their appeals board including what can be appealed <br /> and in what order their process occurs. <br /> <br />Research how the issue of garage businesses is handled in other <br />cities. <br /> <br />3/24/98 <br /> <br />Council introduced the ordinance to vacate the McKinley <br />Street cul-de-sac bulb.
