I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I CASE REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR A PERSONAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM ANTENNA ON CITY PROPERTY CASE OF PAGEMART By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik Background: The City has received an application from PageMart to install and operate a personal communication system (PCS) antenna on the. City's water tower at 14391 Dysprosium Street N.W. The following items are enclosed for your information: a) b) c) d) Site location map Antenna exhibits Proposed findings of fact Proposed conditional use permit Notification: State law requires that properties within 350 feet of the subject property be notified of the public hearing. Staff attempted to notify properties within 700 feet of the public hearing pertaining to the request. Observations: The site is zoned B-1 Business and so are the surrounding parcels. The applicant is proposing to install a 6 foot diameter satellite dish antenna 6n the City water tower. There will also be a 6' x 2' x 2' equipment cabinet that is proposed to be stored in the water tower equipment room and therefore no screening of the equipment cabinets will be required. There will be no personnel stationed at the site on a permanent basis. The permit is drafted to require any visits to the site to be in the company of a City employee. The existing site access is sufficient for PageMarts needs. The City Council approved the proposed lease agreement with PageMart at their July 28 Council meeting. The City will receive $1,000.00 per month from the tenancy. Recommendation: The Applicant has met the application requirements of Ramsey's tower ordinance. City Staff recommends approval of the request.
