CASE # 5 <br /> <br />CONSIDER PROPOSAL FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES <br />FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #98-18 <br />(BUSINESS PARK 95 FIFTH ADDITION) <br /> By: Steve Jankowski, C. ity Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Attached is the CI~ sheets for Business Park 95 Seventh Addition - Phase II (which is proposed <br />to be renamed to Business Park 95 Fifth Addition). This project was tentatively scheduled for <br />1999. However, Lot 1, which is located on the southeast comer of Uranium Street and 139th <br />Avenue, has been committed to A&R Manufacturing who are interested in constructing an <br />11,000 square foot facility and would like to have their access to 139th Avenue by December <br />1998. Therefore, it will be necessary to construct this project this year. I have received the <br />attached proposal from Hakanson-Anderson Associates, Inc. to provide the necessary design and <br />inspection services. Hakanson-Anderson has provided engineering services for both projects <br />adjacent at the east and west terminal points of this project. They are currently providing project <br />observation for Business Park 95 Seventh Addition, which is being constructed immediately east <br />of this subject property. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends retaining Hakanson-Anderson Associates, Inc. to prepare plans and <br />specifications and provide construction observation within the terms of their June 10, 1998 <br />proposal. <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council retain Hakanson-Anderson Associates, Inc. to prepare <br />plans and specifications for Improvement Project #98-18 (Business Park 95 Fifth Addition) in <br />accordance with their June 10, 1998 proposal. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Public Works Director <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />R&B: 6/16/98 <br /> <br /> <br />
