MAY- 7-98 THU ]3:22 SRF FAX NO, 4752429 P, O3

TH 47 - Record of Meeting

-2-

May4,199g

14860 St. Francis Boulevard
14906 : St. Francis Boule'~ard
14918 St. Francis Boulevard
14930 St. Francis Boulevard
14940 St. Francis Boulevard

The houses at these addresses would not meet building setback requirements (35 feet) as
measured from the proposed right-of-way. The City plans on purchasing these properties and
relocating the residents.

The layout also identified the following three properties in which the existing house would
probably meet building setback requirements as measured from the proposed right-of-way:

14750
1476O
14810

St. Francis Boulevard
St. Francis Boulevard
St. Francis Boulevard

Representatives discussed options for these homes such as realigning the driveways to have
access from Sunwood Drive instead of TH 47 at the meeting expressed a desire to have their
home purchase by the City with this project. Residents of these homes were confused because it
was no longer clear to them that the City intended to purchase their property. Ali of these
owners present at the meeting expressed a desire to have their home purchased by the City with
this project.

Bud Storm met with several residents to assure them that the City would follow established
federal rules in the process of property acquisition and resident relocation.

Some people asked if the proposed roadway improvements would disturb the existing
bituminous trail along the east side of TH 47. Representatives commented that construction
limits have not yet been determined, but disturbance to the trail and the berm that separates the
trail from the roadway would be minimized.

Many people expressed concern about the frequency of traffic accidents on this segrnen~ of
TH 47. Representatives responded that this segment had a higher than average rate of accidents
and reducing the number of accidents was one of the main goals of the project.

Some people asked about the possibility of widening this segment to four lanes, The response
was that the proposed roadway shoulders would be designed to be strong enough to function in
the future as through-lanes and this segment could ultimately be an urban (curb and gutter) four-
lane facility. However, widening this segment to four lanes has not been scheduled in the
foreseeable future.
