CASE # REVIEW PUBLIC WORKS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM 1999-2003 Background: The purpose of this case is to review projects associated with the public works portion of the City's overall Capital Improvement Program. A number of projects have been completed, or are anticipated to be completed or underway in 1998, and therefore have been eliminated from the proposed draft attached. These projects include: Business Park 95 7th Addition and 5th Addition streets, water utility, and sewer utility projects (under construction) · Watermain looping, City Hall to 151st Avenue and McKinley Street-Deal property to Jaspar Street (fall projects) · Katnis property redevelopment (deleted) · Comprehensive Water Study (fall start) Two new projects have been proposed to be added to the five-year CIP. These include the construction of Jaspar Street from 143rd to Sunwood Drive, and the development of the former landfill property with interior streets, sewer and water similar to the Business Park 95 development. These projects have been proposed for 2001 and 2002 respectively. In addition to the projects which have been scheduled for the next five years, staff has identified several additional projects which are proposed to have implementation priorities which extend beyond 2003. These projects include: · Sunwood Drive west of Ramsey Boulevard · Extension of 143rd Avenue east to C.R. #116 · 167th Avenue from Variolite Street to C.S.A.H. #5 · Street, sewer and water development through the east half of Section 28 It is desired for the Committee to review these projects and schedules and make desired changes.
