PUBLIC HEARING <br /> BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF iVHNNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Board of Adjustment conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, December 2, 1997, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, 1Vfumesota, to hear input <br />regarding a request for a variance to setback requirements for accessory buildings housing animals; <br />case of Elmer & Judy Kuemper. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Benjamin Deemer <br />Board Member David Bawden <br />Board Member Paul Holland <br />Board Member Sharon Jensen <br />Board Member Charles LaDue <br />Board Member Michael Terry <br />Board Member Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Deemer called the public hearing to order at 7:04 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski explained an application was received from Elmer and Judy Kuemper <br />requesting a variance to setback requirements for accessory buildings housing animals. He said the <br />code requires the building to be 75 feet from any property line. He indicated the building would meet <br />the distance requirement from the neighboring lot, however, does not meet the required distance from <br />the Kuemper's own common property line. He indicated the Kuemper's are proposing to house <br />horses in the new accessory building. He advised staff received a letter from Audrey Ewert, 5414 - <br />151 st Avenue NE, requesting no commercial activity be allowed in the proposed building. <br /> <br />Motion by Board Member Thomd, seconded by Board Member Holland, to include Ms. Ewert's <br />letter into the public hearing record. <br /> <br />Motion Carded: Voting Yes: Board Members Thomd, Holland, Bawden, Jensen, LaDue, and Terry. <br />Voting No: Chairperson Deemer.
