The Board of Adjustment met and conducted a public hearing on September 1. During the <br />Board's discussion of the case, Fire Chief Kapler recommended that during the interim period <br />between building occupancy and the City acquisition of an aerial ladder truck, the design of the <br />attic area of the senior housing building include a dry sprinkler system. As a matter of fact, the <br />State Fire Code requires it in this case. <br /> <br />In a subsequent conversation with the architects and the Fire Chief, it has been determined that <br />State Fire Code requires a dry sprinkler system in this case and the building has been designed <br />with such a system. <br /> <br />At the September 1 Board meeting, the board members tabled action on the variance request until <br />September 10, at which time the architect should be present to discuss the project in more detail. <br /> <br />Recomme~dation: <br /> <br />City Staff recommends approval of the variance in accordance with the recommendations of the <br />Fire Chief contained in his memo of August 25, 1998. <br /> <br />Board Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #98-09- adopting Findings of Fact # relating to a variance to <br />height restrictions on the proposed seniors apartment building to be located at 14351 Dysprosium <br />Street N.W. <br /> <br />Motion to approve a variance to height restrictions for the proposed seniors apartment building at <br />14351 Dysprosium Street N.W. in accordance with the August 25, 1998 comments of the Fire <br />Chief and adopt Resolution #9g-09- declaring terms of same. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />Fire Chief <br />Building Official <br /> <br />Bd of Adj: 09/10/98 <br /> <br /> <br />
