CASE #3

1998 PARK ACTIVITY
By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Background:

The purpose of this case is to outline the 1998 park development activity by project.
Observations:

Alpine Park
Construction will continue this spring with the thawing of the soil. The following is a summary
of the park's development.

Descrit)tion of Work Essentially Complete Resumes in Spring
Excavation / Grading X
Culverts & Sedimentation Basin X
Class V - Drives & Parking X
Concrete - Curb & Gutter X
Topsoil Replacement & Leveling X
Ag Lime Infields X
Paving Drives, Parking, & Path X
Irrigation X
Backstops & Fence X
Seeding (turf & native grass) X
Sodding Infields X
Striping Parking Lots & Misc. X

Currently, staff is in the process of determining the status of the actual expenditures to date
versus the budget. An important item not detailed above is the installation of trees in the park.
This should occur before seeding the non-playfield areas. Until we have better budget numbers,
it is undetermined how close we can get to the Phase I park plan in terms of trees, landscape
plants, signage, benches, etc.

Peltzer Park Redevelopment
The following task by time chart outlines Peltzer Park's work plan. It essentially refers only to
replacement of the play equipment. Should other monies become available, such as a Lawful
Gambling Fund Project, the 1998 scope of improvements to Peltzer Park can be expanded.
