CITY OF RAMSEY
REQUEST FOR QUOTATION
PLAY GROUND EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION
FOR FOX PARK

August10,1995

Dear Playground Professional:

The City of Ramsey (West Central Anoka County), population 16,000, intends on the immediate
purchase of a play structure and associated appurtances for Fox Park. The park (location map
enclosed) is undeveloped; and the soils are largely comprised of sand. Ramsey's City Council and
Park Commission have allocated $19,000 for Fox Park toward play equipment and its installation.
In order to be eligible for consideration for the provision of the playground and installation, you
must submit your proposal to the City by September 11, 1995 at 5:00 p.m. Some preference may
be given to vendors who can complete the installation before January 1 of 1996. The park's play
equipment must be finalized before May 1996.

The following considerations should guide the development of your proposal. The City reserves
the right to deviate from the suggestions in any way.

Fox Park Total cost, including installation, tax and delivery, of the playground/equipment may
not exceed $19,000.:

Will not consist of wood or materials susceptible to weathering, fading or vandalism.

Should contain at least a 3-bay swing, one bay having a tot seat, 10-foot swing height
preferred.

Should include elements for all youth.

Should contain varying slide configurations with a preference for a 72-inch slide and a
double-wave slide.

Should have elements for physically-challenged children which may .include learning
components such as spelling/math wheels.

Should have a resilient surface connection from the transfer point through the buckshot/pea
gravel (supplied by the City) to the location of the park path, suitable for wheelchairs.

Should consider two or more taik tubes with connection from the handicap transfer point to
a bench location external to the resilient surfacing.

May not contain any see-through bubbles.

Other considerations:

· The color preference is toward earth tone colors of tan, brown, and green.
o Area residents are strongly interested in nature and wildlife issues.
