CASE #3 <br /> <br />INITIATE DISCUSSIONS ON THE TROTT BROOK TRAIL <br /> By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As the Commission is aware, City Staff has requested specific moneys within the 1999 parks <br />operational budget for consulting services for the Trott Brook Trail or associated projects. Staff <br />has invited SRF, a firm noted for successful trail projects, to meet with staff on December 15, <br />1998 for purposes of exploring various issues. The purpose of this case is to receive <br />Commission concurrence to begin discussions on the proposed Trott Brook Trail. The next steps <br />would be as follows: <br /> <br />A) <br /> <br />Meet with a trail construction firm specializing in these large projects to better define all <br />of the issues and obstacles. <br /> <br />13) <br /> <br />Receive City Council approval to hire a consulting firm to work with staffon the project <br />scope, property acquisition, and securing grant funding. <br /> <br />¢) <br /> <br />Invite the "Friends of Ramsey's Trails" to a February meeting to begin building a <br />coalition of trail users and advocates for trail development. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Based on discussion/Motion to direct staff to initiate the Trott Brook Trail discussions via the <br />outline presented. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />Copies also distributed to: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Director of Public Works <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br /> <br />Community Development Director <br />Zoning Administrator <br />Community Development Assistant <br /> <br />PR: 12/10/98 <br /> <br /> <br />
