Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION g97-01- RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION TO OFFICER JAMES SINGEWALD WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey Police Department, in conjunction with Minnesota D.A.R.E., Inc., undertook a project to build a house in the City of Ramsey as a fund raising project for D.A.R.E.; and WHEREAS, this project was initiated primarily through the efforts of Officer James Singewald in his position as D.A.R.E. officer for the Police Department; and WHEREAS, Officer Singewald displayed exceptional skills and talents in the planning for construction, soliciting of contributions of supplies and labor, and in the coordinating of efforts involved in the building of the home. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That Officer James Singewald is hereby formally commended and recognized for his service to the community, as a member of the Ramsey Police Department and as a citizen of Ramsey, for his initiation and successful completion of the D.A.R.E. House construction project and the resultant funds received by Ramsey Police D.A.R.E. which will further the mission of D.A.R.E. in the community. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 14th day of Januai'y, 1997.
