Motion was made by Nagel, seconded by Schroeder to ACCEPT THE CONSENT AGENDA AS PRESENTED. 7 ayes - 0 nays. Motion carried. Terry O'Cormell requested that the Agenda be amended by added 7.2. SANCTION OF THE CABLE COMPANY to the QCCCC November format. Motion was made by Nagel, seconded by Schroeder to ADD 7.2 SANCTION OF THE CABLE COMPANY to the November agenda. 8 ayes - 0 nays. Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS - 5 $.1 REVIEW OF CONFERENCE PARTICIPATION O'Connell presented information requested by Ryan Schroeder showing the 1996 Conference/Seminar participation for both QCCCC and QCTV. Schroeder stated that he was satisfied with the information presented and believes that the participation is well within the approved budgeted amounts for both the Cable Commission and the Access Corporation. 5.2 REQUEST FOR AN EXTENSION TO FRANCHISE At the "One Issue" meeting Commission Members directed staff to initiate the process to extend the franchise past its current expiration date of June, 1997. A draft letter from the Chair making such a request was attached to the November packet. Motion was made by Nagel, seconded by Schroeder TO APPROVE THE FORWARDING LETTER FOR THE REQUEST FOR AN EXTENSION LETTER TO THE CABLE COMPANY. 6 ayes - 0 nays. Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS - 6 6.1 ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT O'Cormell stated that he has found several articles involving the Troy, Michigan Case. The City of Troy, Michigan implemented a telecommunications ordinance that required TCI to seek a franchise-to deliver non-basic telecommunication services over the cable system.
