3.2 <br /> <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE DIGITAL EQUIPMENT <br /> <br />O'Connell began by reviewing the Memorandum of Understanding <br />(MOU) that the Cable Commission entered into with Meredith Cable in <br />December of 1994. In the that agreenment was a provisions that <br />included a payment of $50,000 for equipment replacement at the time <br />the of a transfer of ownership. <br /> <br />O'Connell stated that every year QCTV is suppose to get $20,000 for <br />equipment replace fund, but for the past couple of years 'the funds have <br />remained in the Commission budget for government channel use for <br />new equipment. O'Cormell also stated that he would like to use half of <br />the money received for a non-linear computer editing system. <br /> <br />O'ConneI1 presented prices for two different non-linear computer <br />editing systems. The PC based "FAST Video Machine" and the <br />Macintosh based "MEDIA 100", both systems have been thoroughly <br />investigated by QCTV - 15 staff members and some specifics on both <br />editing systems were presented as part of Robb Tronson's report. <br /> <br />Board Members discussed the options and approved that O'Connell <br />purchase the FAST Video Machine non-linear computer editing <br />system on a 3 to 6 month balloon, when that time frame is up to pay off <br />the remaining balance owed. <br /> <br />Motion was made to APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A NON-LINEAR <br />COMPUTER EDITING SYSTEM WITH THE OPTION TO LEASE AND <br />NOT TO EXCEED A TOTAL COST OF MORE THAN $26,000. <br /> <br />6 ayes - 0 nays. Motion carried. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS - 4 <br /> <br />4.1 <br /> <br />ADVERTISING AT THE ICE FORUM IN CHAMPLIN <br /> <br />O'Connell stated that he is asking the Board to approve the advertising <br />at the Champlin Ice Forum. O'Connell believes that QCTV is going to <br />have a large number of appearances at the Ice Forum and is a good way <br />to get QCTV exposure. <br /> <br />O'Connell also included in the packet comments from Bruce Chaffee, <br />Sports Producer and Bruce Frank, Host of Breakfast with the Coaches. <br /> <br />Schroeder asked O'Connell if we were currently advertising at the <br />Anoka Ice Arena. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />i <br />! <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
