I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #97-02- RESOLUTION DESIGNATING USE OF 1997 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS WHEREAS, Anoka County is responsible for the allocation and timely expenditure of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey receives an annual allocation of CDBG funds from Anoka County; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has a 1997 CDBG allocation in the amount of $33,120.00 for CDBG projects; and WHEREAS, eligible activities for CDBG funds include projects that have been determined to benefit low and moderate income persons, handicapped persons, senior citizens or to rehabilitate areas of slum and blight; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council conducted a public hearing Tuesday, January 28, 1997 regarding the use of 1997 CDBG allocations. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City of Ramsey hereby applies to Anoka County for 1997 Community Development Block Grant allocations to be used as follows: Projec[ Amount Public Service Agencies: Alexandra House CEAP Opportunity Services Child Care Resource & Referral $ 2,500.00 $ 2,500.00 $ 5,00O.O0 $ 7,600.00 Sidewalk Retrofits $13,520.00 2) That a copy of this resolution, the public hearing notice and the preliminary project application request form be forwarded to the Anoka County CDBG Administrator. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the l lth day of February, 1997.
