Councilmember Haas Steffen: We could ask the business community how they want to <br />communicate with us. With regard to the Police Chief' s position, I called and asked Linda Waite <br />Smith if she would get job descriptions from other cities. I would like to take the City Council out <br />of the initial interviews. We have come from being a small community to a much larger one and I <br />would like to see an independent panel do the interviews. Maybe someone like M.A. Johnson, <br />Tangus, etc., someone with no vested interest should be on the panel. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer: We will talk about this at the Personnel Committee.
