I
I
I

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
i
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

There are several objectives to this proposed project. The main purpose is beautification of a
portion of the Lake Itasca Trail System. This will be accomplished with the addition of
landscaping Milch will include trees, bushes, and benches.

The proposed project would provide considerable benefits. The area to be focused on is open and
flat. The most noticeable benefit is that of adding character and a point of interest to the trail.
Benches and trash receptacles would be much appreciated as well as necessary additions to the
trail system. And last, but certainly not least, the planting of additional trees along the trail are an
obvious boost for the environment.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS

- Describe the project's time line from start to completion.

This project will begin Spring, 1997.
taking into consideration delivery of materials, the weather and labor availability.

-Budget detail. ~,-~©~.~
The following is our proposed budget for this project:

Deciduous trees (1)
Coniferous trees (3)

Black dirt
Shrubs/Perennials (137)
Woodchips*
Benches

Volunteer labor (100 hrs ~ $7.00/hr)

Total Cost

It should be able to be done in a few days time;

$120.00
225.00
1,300.00
150.00
240.00
400.00
700.00

$3,135.00

~5

We are hoping to utilize the Sentence to Serve program in conjunction with this
project. We would use these people to spread the black dirt and woodchips and to
plant trees and shrubs. Several Northfork Homeowners would be available to
supervise these workers and help with the work. The Homeowners Association is willing
to match the remainder of the necessary funds.

*Woodchips would most likely be available from an area near the end of 162nd Lane.
The value was obtained from Anoka-Ramsey Farm & Garden. The price charged last
fall was $16/yd for a full truckload of 15 yards which is the arnount needed.

qq
