I I I I i I I I I I i I I I I I I I PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 4, 1997, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Chairperson David Bawden Commissioner Benjamin Deemer Commissioner Paul Holland Commissioner Sharon Jensen Commissioner Charles LaDue Commissioner Michael Terry Commissioner Bradley Thorud Also Present: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik City Engineer Steve Jankowski Planning Intern Kirk Skoog CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Bawden called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT Mr. Terry Hendrickson stated that he is present to listen to Case//2. There is a similarity between Case//2 and the project known as Fox Knoll in terms of impact to adjoining properties. The density and projected traffic increase that will generate approximately 1,200 trips per day are primary concerns. He requested that the Commission consider this project carefully before recommendations are made to the City Council. Mr. Conrad Barsness, 6020 - 159th Lane NW, asked when the City of Ramsey discontinued acreage plats. It is his understanding that all subdivisions after 1990 be no less than 10-acre lots. Commissioner Deemer responded that only property not in the Metropolitan Urban Service Area (MUSA) must be a minimum of 10 acres. Mr. Barsness asked who has the authority to move the MUSA line. Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that the MUSA expansion was initiated in 1993 and was approved by the Metropolitan Council in early 1995. Planning Commission/February 4, 1997 Page 1 of 15
