I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Charles 3'ohn~on, 6010 153rd Lane NW, asked if consideration has been given for filtering <br />chemicals that drain off driveways to prevent them from draining onto natural land. This is a concern <br />throughout the City to prevent wildlife from being poisoned. There are also many wetlands with the <br />problem o£algae, oil and garbage. He requested the Planning Commission to consider these issues <br />and what can be done to keep these wedands preserw, d. <br /> <br />City En~neer J'ankowski stated that the purpose of the storm water treatment pond is primarily to <br />remove phosphorous that causes algae blooms in water. He agreed that in the normal amounts of oils <br />or possibly femqize, rs there is the potential for a problem, but this development is in compliance with <br />Best Practices Management that is the currently acknowledged standard. Part of what needs to be <br />done is to educate people on the judicious use of lawn fertilizers. <br /> <br />Mr. Voss stated that the northern tier o£]ots appears to be less deep than the southern tier. He asked <br />if the plan could be rcvemed to put more distance between this development and the residents to the <br />north. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that all of the lots are exactly 135 feet deep. <br /> <br />One resident asked when the park would be completed. <br /> <br />Commissionez Deemer responded that the Planing Commission does not have the authority to <br />address park issues. Park questions should be addressed to the Park Commissi:on~ <br /> <br />City Engineer lankowski noted that the City Council has earmarked revenue from this development <br />specifically for the park on the south side of 153rd. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Sensen, seconded by Commissioner Deexner to dose the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden; Commissioners .tense, n, Deemer, Holland, <br />LaDue, Thom& Voting No: None.
