Accidental Overflow. Holding tanks shall be monitored to <br /> minimize the chance of accidental sewage overflows. <br /> Techniques such as visual observation, warning lights or <br /> bells, or regularly scheduled pumping shall be installed <br /> which allows 25% reserve capacity after actuation. <br /> <br /> c. Other systems. Where unusual conditions exist, special systems <br /> of treatment and. disposal other than those specifically mentioned <br /> above may be employed, provided: <br /> a) Reasonable assurance of performance of such system is <br /> presented to the council; <br /> b) The engineering design of such system is first approved <br /> by the council; <br /> c) There is no discharge to the ground surface or to <br /> surface waters; <br /> d) Treatment and disposal of wastes is in such a manner <br /> so as to protect the public health and general welfare; <br /> e) Such systems comply with all applicable requirements <br /> of these standards and with all local codes and <br /> ordinances; <br /> iD Design criteria is reported to the agency within one <br /> fnonth after installation of the system, where use of <br /> such system is allowed by the council; <br /> g) Performance of such system be monitored and reported <br /> to the agency annually for a period of at least five years <br /> after installation, including continual monitoring of <br /> water used (see §8.30.04 Subd. Sb). <br /> <br />d. Setback Requirement. No setback requirement shall be imposed <br /> in the Urban Area, except in cases where drainfields are <br /> installed on property sloping greater than 4 feet horizontal to 1 <br /> foot vertical. In cases where said slopes are greater than 4:1, no <br /> drainfield trench shall be located closer than 6 feet from the <br /> ground surface as measured horizontally from the trench bottom. <br /> <br />8.30.05 Insp~tion- <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. New Construction- The pt-robing inspector shall make <br />such inspection or inspections as are necessary to determine compliance with this <br />chapter. No part .of the system shall be covered until it has been inspected and <br />accepted by the plumbing inspector. It shall be the responsibility of the applicant <br />for the permit to notify the plumbing inspector that the job is ready for inspection or <br />reinspection, and it shall be the duty of the plumbing inspector to make the <br />indicated inspection within 48 hours after such notice has been given. It shall be <br />the duty of the o~-ner or occupant of the property to give the plumbing inspector free <br />access to the property at reasonable times for the purpose of making such <br />inspection. <br /> <br />Page 260 <br /> <br />Printed 12/28/90 <br /> <br /> <br />
