I i I I t I I I I I I I I I I I I I I PUBLIC HEARING PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public heating on Tuesday, April 1, 1997, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, to consider a request from Good Value Homes to rezone certain property from B-1 and B-2 Business to R-1 Urban Residential. Members Present: Chairperson David Bawden Commissioner Benjamin Deemer Commissioner Sharon Jensen Commissioner Charles LaDue Commissioner Michael Terry Commissioner Bradley Thorud Members Absent: Commissioner Paul Holland Also Present: City Engineer Steve Jankowski Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik City Attorney William Goodrich Community Development Intern Kirk Skoog CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 9:55 p.m. PRESENTATION Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that Good Value Homes is requesting a rezoning of property located north of 153rd and west of T.H. #47 to facilitate the development of single family homes on the property. The property is approximately 20 acres in size. The adjacent parcels to the north and west are zoned residential. The parcel to the east is zoned commercial and the property on the south side of 153rd is zoned commercial and residential. CITIZEN INPUT Loft Abrahamson, 5735 - 153rd Avenue NW, Ramsey, stated that she would.just as soon see this property retain its commercial zoning. The City has enough problems with traffic and development at this point. Charles Johnson, 6010 - 159th Lane NW, Ramsey, stated that he was under the understanding that Alpine Estates and Apple Ridge were the only projects the City was going to consider action on until there are some answers regarding the MUSA line and zoning.
