I I I I I I I i I I I I I I I I I I I CITY COUNCIL CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 8, 1997, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Tom Gamec Councilmembers Carolyn Beahen Councilmember Sheila Beyer Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman Also Present: City Administrator Ryan Schroeder Finance Officer Jessie Hart City Engineer Steve Jankowski Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik Community Development Intern Kirk Skoog City Attomey William Goodrich CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m., and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. PRESENTATION TO MINNESOTA D.A.R.E. Finance Officer Hart reported that the proceeds from selling the D.A.R.E. home were to be split 50/50 with Minnesota D.A.R.E. and the City's program. She commented on the amount of volunteer work and donations of cash and product. She noted David Weidenfeller and Mark Mellander were present representing D.A.R.E. and she presented them with a check for $15,072.57. David Weidenfeller, Executive Director of D.A.R.E., thanked the City of Ramsey and the Rmnsey Police Department and offered a special thanks to Officer Jim Singewald for his dedication to the program and in getting the house built. He expected this money would go a long way in helping out with the program. PRESENTATION OF BADGES TO FIRE FIGHTERS COMMEMORATION END OF PROBATIONARY PERIOD Fire Chief Kapler and Mayor Gamec presented Greg Ostrum and Brenda Generre with a badge commemorating the end of their one-year probationary period and making them full-time City Council/April 8, 1997 Page 3 of 19
