Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION #97-04- <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MUNICIPAL STATE AID HIGHWAY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has adopted a Comprehensive Plan which provides for <br /> a system of arterial and collector thoroughfare; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has established a Municipal State Aid System <br /> (MSAS) under Chapter 162 of the State Statutes which promotes the construction and <br /> maintenance of such an arterial and collector system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Ramsey to modify the designated <br /> MSAS to conform to its changing transportation needs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Elk River has similar interests and has undertaken to designate a <br /> portion of Jarvis Street within that City's jurisdiction as an MSAS street. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the following MSAS segment be added to the system: <br /> <br /> The entire distance of Jarvis Street NW lying within the City of Ramsey (a total <br /> distance of 0.8 miles of which the east half of the centerline falls inside Ramsey <br /> corporate limits). <br /> <br />2) That the City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to forward two certified <br /> copies of this resolution to the Commission of Transportation for consideration and, that <br /> upon approval of the revisions of said road or portion thereof, that same be constructed, <br /> improved and maintained as a part of the MSAS of the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereofi <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 22nd day of April, 1997. <br /> <br /> <br />
