In <br />conjunction with this project, the City has been negotiating with the property owners (Mr. <br />and Mrs. L. W. Makens) for fee title to the property for the future extension of McKinley <br />Street Northwest to the public works facility. <br /> <br />The City has been unable to come to a mutually satisfactory price for the purchase of the <br />property. The Makens have requested that the City begin the condemnation proceedings <br />to allow for the transfer of the property in a timely manner.
