Both parks are in the southeast quadrant of the City and are approximately 1-1/4 mile <br />apart. Emerald Pond Park has electric power on site, Rivers Bend Park does not. Sealed bids must be <br />received by 10:00a.m. on , 1997 at Ramsey City Hall, 15153 Nowthen <br />Boulevard, NW, Ramsey, MN 55303. The envelope should be marked "Park Shelter Bid" and also <br />contain a 5% bid bond. <br /> <br />The City intends on immediate construction of both shelters during 1997. The hexagonal shelters will <br />be 35 feet across (795 square feet), with a 4/12 pitched roof or greater. Below are additional details <br />that must be addressed in your bid. Any requested deviation in these specifications must be clearly <br />pointed out by the bidder. <br /> <br />35 foot hexagonal shelter must include six glue-laminated support columns and no center support - <br />specify whether or not the exposed portions of the supports are treated. <br />The shelter must include connecting hardware of a minimum thickness of 1/4-inch plate steel. <br />Roof decking shall be 2 x 6 or larger, kiln-dried lumber (specify grade), selected for appearance <br />and be "edge reed" or tongue & groove (please specify), fascia must be 2 x 6 No. 1 Grade lumber, <br />preferably rough sawn exterior (specify). <br />Roof must be rated for a 40 psf live load (or approved by Ramsey's Building Official - specify). <br />The four-inch concrete floor must be poured over compacted base material. (Specify whether the <br />floor will have reinforcement wire or be fiber-con.) <br />Concrete control joints should rnn corner to corner (resulting in an asterisk pattern converging in <br />the center of the floor). <br />Concrete should extended eight inches beyond the drip line of the roof and slope from the support <br />posts at more than one percent, but less than two percent, in grade. The perimeter portion of the <br />slab (16") shall be 12" in thickness. <br />20-year asphalt shingle roofing (with cedar option - #1 grade) should be over felt underlayment <br />with perimeter drip edge. <br /> <br />The following should include all costs, including but not limited to shipping, tax, materials, and <br />installation. <br /> <br />Cost for one only shelter $. <br /> <br />Option for cedar shingles (vs. asphalt) $ <br /> <br />Cost for two shelters $. <br /> <br />· Option for cedar shingles (vs. asphalt) $ <br /> <br />Completion date ~ days after award. Guaranteed ti~ne of completion <br /> <br />,1997· <br /> <br />Cupola - provide detail with all dimensions. $ <br />Please note: The City intends on the purchase of the cupola with both shelters. <br /> <br />The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive informalities or to award each shelter to <br />a different vendor.
