ADVERTISEMENT' FOR BIDS <br /> CITY OF RA~SEY <br />PAR~ SI-IELTER SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />The purpose of this bulletin is to request sealed bids for the '~h. makey" provision of two shelters in different <br />parks. Both parks are in the southeast quadrant of the City and are approximately 1-1/4 mile apart. Emerald <br />Pond Park has electric power on site, Pdvers Bend Park does not. Sealed bids must be received by 10:00 a.m. <br />on Wednesday, May 14, 1997 at Ramsey City Hail, 15153 Nowthcn Boulevard, I'~V, Kamsey, MN 55303. The <br />envelope should be marked "Park Shelter Bid" and also contain a 5% bid bond. <br /> <br />The City intends on immediate construction of both shelters during 1997. The hexagonal shelters w/Il be 35 feet <br />across (795 square feet), with a 4/12 pitched roof or greater. Below are additional details that must be <br />addressed in your bid. Any requested deviation in these specifications must be clearly pointed out by the <br />bidder. <br /> <br /> 35 foot hexagonal shelter must include six glue-laminated support columns and no center support - specify <br /> whether or not the exposed portions of the supports are treated. <br /> The shelter must include connecting hardware of a minimum thickness of 1/4-inch plate steel. <br />Roof decking shall be 2 x 6 or larger, kiln-dried lumber (specify grade), selected for appearance and be <br />"edge veed" or tongue & groove (please specify), fascia must be 2 x 6 No. 1 Grade lumber, preferably <br />rough saw'n exterior (specify). ~14-ml..c. l~m 2.~/.a R.. ~;. <br />Roof must be rated for a 40 psflive load (or approved by Ramsey's Building Official - specify). <br />The four-inch concrete floor must be poured over compacted base material. (Specify whether the floor will <br />have reinforcement wire or be fiber-con.) ~t~-L. mM ~'J I~. <br />Concrete c0ntzo! joints should run comer to comer (resulting in an asterisk pattern converging in the center <br />of the floor). <br />Concrete should extended eight inches beyond the drip line of the roof and slope from the support posts at <br />more than one percent, but less than two percent, in grade. The perimeter portion of the slab (16") shall be <br />12" in thickness. <br />20-year asphalt shingle roofing (w/th cedar option - #i grade) should be over felt underlayment with <br />per/meter drip edge. <br /> <br />Th~-following should include all costs, including but not limited to shipping, tax, materials, and installation. <br />Cost 'for one only shelter $ 2~9_/~, t30 , Option for cedar shingles (vs. asphalt) $. ~.~ ~cle~ ~1~ <br />Cost for two shelters $ /'4 0: t~..~, .00 . Guaranteedfimeofcomplet/on ~lg/~'r ~j . 1997. <br />Cupola - provide detail with all dimensions. $ ~oq ~',00 ~flC_./4 :..A/~.., <br />Please note: The City intends on the purchase of the cupola with both shelters. <br /> <br />The City rese-rves the fight to reject any or all bids, or to waive informalities or to award each shelter to a <br />different vendor. Further, it is possible that bidders that cannot provide construction plans or examples of <br />hexagonal shelters in the North Metro Area might not be considered.
