ADVeRTISEMeNT FOR BEDS PARK Sfl'ELTER SPECIFICATIONS I I The purpose of this bulletin is to request sealed bids for the "turnkey" provision of two shelters in different parks. Both parks are in the southeast quadrant of the City and are approximately 1-1/4 mile apart. Emerald Pond Park has el¢c~c power on site, Rivers Bend Park does not. Sealed bids must be received by I0:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 1997 at Ramsey City Hall, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard, NW, Ramsey, IvIN 55303. The envelope should be marked "Park Shelter Bid" and also contain a 5% bid bond. I I The City intcmds on fiT~mediate conskmcfion of both shelters during 1997. The hexagonal shelters will be 35 feet across (795 square feet), with a 4/12 pitched roof or greater. Below are additional details that must be addressed in your bid. Any requested deviation in these specifications must be clearly pointed out by the bidder. 35 foot hexagonal shelter must include six glue-laminated support columns and no center support - specify whether or not the exposed portions of the supports are treated. · The shelter must include connecting hardware of a minimum thickness of 1/4dnch plate steel. Roof decking shall be 2 × 6 or larger, kiln-dried lumber (specify grade), selected for appearance and be "edge reed" or tongue & groove (p~ease specify), fascia must be 2 x 6 No. 1 Grade lumber, preferably rough sawn exterior (specify). · Roof must be rated for a 40 psf live load (or approved by Ramsey's Building Official ~ specify). · Thc four-inch concrete floor must be poured over compacted base material. (Specify whether thc floor will have rcinforccm6nt wire or bc fiber-con.) · Concrete control joints should nm comer to comer (resulting in an astcu%k pattern converging in the center of the floor). · Concrete should extended eight inches beyond thc drip line of thc roof and slope from the support posts at more than one percent, but less than two percent, in grade. The perimeter portion of the slab (16") shall be i2" fin thickness. · 20-year asphalt shingle roofing (with cedar option - #1 grade) should be over felt underlayment with pcn-kneter drip edge. The City reserves the fight to reject any or all bids, or to waive informalities or to award each shelter to a d/fferent vendor. Further, it is possfble that bidders that cannot provide construction plans or examples of hexagonal shelters in the North Metro Area might not be considered.
