Attached is a letter from the Executive <br />Director and President of the North Metro Humane Society <br />which also provides animal control service for 10 cities <br />in Anoka County. The letter explains their financial <br />situation and asks contracting cities if they are <br />interested in purchasing their building which is in need <br />of "major renovations" and expansion in order to continue <br />to provide the very basic animal control services. <br /> <br />I have been attending meetings with the Executive <br />Director and representatives from several other cities in <br />Anoka County for the past two years, for the purpose of <br />attempting to resolve these problems. Spring Lake Park, <br />along with several of the other city representatives, has <br />indicated on numerous occasions that we would be willing <br />to pay higher contract fees and/or investigate <br />alternatives for funding of additional staff, a vehicle <br />and building improvements, if necessary to provide needed <br />services. <br /> <br />Since there are no other alternatives for animal control <br />services within Anoka County and because this has county- <br />wide impact, we are asking the County to consider <br /> <br />q-,t7 <br /> <br /> <br />
