CASE <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND LEVY OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS <br />FOR THE 2003 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br /> By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The 2003 Street Maintenance Program consisted of seven individual projects coveting 10.14 miles of streets <br />which include 1.03 miles of Municipal State Aid streets (MSA). The individual projects are as follows: <br /> <br />03-01 <br />03 -02 <br />03 -03 <br /> <br />03 -04 <br /> <br />03 -05 <br /> <br />SEALCOATS <br />Woodlawn Estates <br />NorthForty 3rd Addition <br />Rivlyn Avenue; 137th Avenue (Dolomite to a point 350 feet west of Ebony Street); and <br />Dolomite Street (Riverdale Drive to 137th Avenue) <br />Commercial Streets in Business Park 95 Area - McKinley Street; Unity Street; Sunfish Lake <br />Court; Azurite Street (CR 116 to McKinley Street); 140th Avenue (Unity Street to Radium <br />Street); 141st Avenue (Azurite Street to Basalt Street) <br />MSA Streets - Riverdale Street (Feldspar to Tungsten); Tungsten (Highway 10 to Riverdale) <br />Sunfish Lake Drive (Highway 10 to Riverdale); Feldspar (Highway 10 to Riverdale) <br /> <br />03 -06 <br />03 -07 <br /> <br />OVERLAYS <br />156th Avenue (Armstrong Boulevard to Variolite Street) <br />Whispering Pines Estates; Whispering Pines Estates Plat 4; and Menkveld Pine Hills North <br /> <br />Five projects covering 5.69 miles of roadway consisted of sealcoating proceeded by the filling of major <br />cracks. Two projects covering 4.45 miles of street consisted of placing a one and one half-inch bituminous <br />overlay over the existing pavement. All projects have been substantially completed and the final costs <br />tabulated. <br /> <br />The City's policy is to assess 50% of the total cost of the work to the benefited property owners.
