Councilmember <br />moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 997-06-__ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE TERM OF ORDINANCE NO. 96-20~ WHICH <br />ORDINANCE PLACED A MORATORIUM ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW TOWERS AND <br />THE USE AND DEVELOPMENT OF PROPERTY FOR TOWERS WITHIN THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 26, 1996 the City Council adopted <br />Ordinance No. 96-20 which is an interim ordinance establishing a <br />moratorium on the construction of new towers and the use and <br />development of property for towers within all of the City (the <br />"Ordinance"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ordinance provides that it shall expire on July <br />5, 1997; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ordinance provides that the City Council may <br />extend its term for additional periods; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the city Council finds that the purposes of the <br />Ordinance still exist and are valid and the studies ordered <br />pursuant to the Ordinance have not been completed; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that an extension of the term <br />of the Ordinance is necessary to complete the studies and in order <br />to protect the planning process and the health, safety and welfare <br />of the citizens of Ramsey. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That the term of Ordinance No. 96-20 be extended such <br />that it shall expire on October 3, 1997. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
