RECEIVE BIDS AND AWARD CONTRACTS FOR <br /> THE 1997 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br /> By: Steve Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br /> Background: <br /> <br />On February 25, 1996, a public hearing was held on the 1996 Street Maintenance Program. The <br />Council ordered preparation plans and specifications on May 13, 1997, after the 60-day comment <br />period following the public hearing, and authorized bids on May 13, 1997. <br /> <br />This year's program includes 16 separate projects. Two projects consist of bituminous overlays, <br />while the remaining fourteen projects involve sealcoats preceded by cracksealing. The program <br />will cover over 13 miles of City roadway. <br /> <br />Bids are scheduled to be opened Friday, June 6, 1997.
