Liability. The pl-rnbing inspector or any employee charged <br />with the enforcement of this Chapter of the City, acting in good faith and without <br />malice for the &ischarge of his duties, shall not thereby render himself liable <br />personal]y, and he is hereby relieved from ail personal liability for any damage that <br />may accrue to persons or property as a result of any act required or by reason of any <br />act or ornlssion in the discharge of his duties. Any suit brought against the <br />pl-rnbing inspector or employee because of such act or omission performed by him <br />in the enforcement of any provision of this chapter shall be defined by the legal <br />department of the City of Ramsey until final termination of the proceedings. <br /> <br /> Sub& ~ Cooperation Of Other Officinls. The plumbing inspector <br />authority may request, and shall receive so far as may be necessary in the <br />discharge of his duties, the assistance and cooperation of the other officials of the <br />City of l~rn~ey. <br /> <br /> Sub& 4. Appeals. Appeals from the plumbing i~Lspector's decision <br />and requests for variances as to any provisions of this chapter may be made to the <br />l~rnsey City Council. The City Council may grant a variance to 'the strict terms or <br />requirements of this chapter as it affects specific tracts of land if it finds: <br /> <br /> a. It is shown by reason of topography or other physical conditions <br /> that strict compliance with the chapter's requirements could <br /> cause an exceptional and undue hardship to the enjoyment of a <br /> substantial property right; <br /> <br /> b. By the granting of the variance, the spirit and intent of the <br /> chapter wi]] not be adversely ~fTected; <br /> <br /> c. That the variance will not be injurious to the health and/or <br /> general welfare of: <br /> <br /> 1. the users of the system for which the variance is sought, <br /> <br /> 2. the adjacent property owners, and <br /> <br /> 3. the general community as a whole; <br /> <br /> d.
