The population of the City is estimated at 17,031 and will grow to 18,813 by <br />the year 2000. This growth in population will coincide with the continued growth of the <br />employment base with the creation of over 750 new jobs from 1990. The job creation portion of <br />this report will be updated as the new jobs are created resulting in a more accurate picture of the <br />employment opportunities in the community. <br /> <br />! <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Attached for your review are the building permit reports for the month of May, 1997. As the <br />reports show, the City issued 21 new home permits, which compares to the 24 projected during <br />this period in the residential activity forecast. This brings the total projected single family home <br />permits to 227 for the entire year. Also included in the reports is a list of the currently <br />anticipated commercial/industrial projects slated for completion in the next 12 months. As this <br />list indicates the City is expecting to construct over 300,000 square feet of space.
