I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />CAS~ # ~, <br /> <br />COMPLIANCE WITH SIDING ORDINANCE <br /> By: Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On November 26, 1996, Council adopted Ordinance #96-19 amending Section 8.01 of the City <br />Code. This amendment requires that the exterior finish on all residential, commercial, and <br />institutional structures and accessory buildings be completed within one year of the start of the <br />work. Holders of permits issued prior to January 1, 1996 had until April 1, 1997 under the <br />ordinance to complete the exterior finish work. <br /> <br />In January, the building department informed all permitees of this ordinance requirement. At <br />that time, there were 30 different parcels subject to the ordinance requirements. In April, we <br />provided second notices to the affected parties. As of June 16, 1997, there were 13 properties <br />still not in compliance with the ordinance. These properties are: <br /> <br />17411 Baugh Street <br />16911 Helium Street <br />16021 Jasper Street <br />5860 141st Lane <br />15631 Ramsey Blvd. <br />5726 140th Lane <br />6220 167th Ave. <br />7950 163rd Lane <br />14290 Dysprosium Street <br />8331 15ist Lane <br />15141 Iguana Street <br />16442 Jaspar Street <br />7650 170th Avenue <br /> <br />Garage <br />Garage (porch) <br /> <br />Stucco <br />Addition <br />Shed <br /> <br />Addition <br />Shed <br />Garage <br />Garage <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />The building official, by ordinance, has granted extensions to July 1, 1997 to complete the <br />required work. While the ordinance extension contemplates "unusual hardship, such as bad <br />weather," we felt that the extensive cold weather through April allowed staff to provide for the <br />extension. <br /> <br />The normal course of action for noncompliance with nuisance ordinances is to forward the issue <br />to the City Attorney.
