CASE #: REQUEST FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT FOR A TEMPORARY OFFICE STRUCTURE; CASE OF AMCOR PRECAST By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik Background: In November of 1995, the City Council issued an interim use permit to Amcor for the use of a modular office structure at 6640 Industry Avenue N.W. until June 30, 1997. The permit was granted in response to Amcor's request to augment their office space while they take time to assess their permanent space needs at the subject property. Observations: Amcor has indicated that their sales are not at the desired volume and they are requesting an additional 2 years to evaluate the permanency of their site. They have renewed a 2 year lease with Royal Concrete Products, Inc. The following items are enclosed for your information: a) b) c) d) Site location map Draft Planning Commission meeting minutes dated 8/5/97 Proposed findings of fact Proposed interim use permit Notification: State law requires notification of the public hearing to parcels within 350 feet of the subject property. Staff sent notification to parcels within 500 feet of the subject property. The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on August 5 and there were no verbal or written comments received. Recommendation: The Planning Commission and City Staff recommend approval of the interim use permit for another 24 month period.
