CASE <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE CITY TO ENTER INTO MULTI-AGENCY AGREEMENT <br />FOR ANOKA COUNTY AUTO THEFT TASK FORCE <br /> Dave Gustafson, Police Chief <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The cities of Anoka, Blaine, Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, Fridley, Lino Lakes, <br />Ramsey, Spring Lake Park, St. Francis, Circle Pines and Lexington and the county of <br />Anoka are joining forces to deal with auto theft. Under the name of the Anoka County <br />Auto Theft Task Force, the group applied for and received a Minnesota Department of <br />Public Safety Auto Theft Prevention Board grant in the amount $115,528.00. The grant <br />requires that each participating agency sign a Multi-Agency Agreement, a copy of which <br />is attached to this case. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendations: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution stating the City's <br />intent to participate in the Anoka County Auto Theft Task Force, and authorize Mayor <br />Garnet to sign the agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Adopt resolution authorizing City to sign the Multi-Agency Agreement to participate in <br />the Anoka County Auto Theft Task Force. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Police Chief <br /> <br />Also distributed to: <br />City Attorney <br /> <br />CC:' 09/04/97 <br /> <br /> <br />
