'1 <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />CASE #: o~ ~ <br /> <br /> ADOPT REVISED ORGANIZATIONAL CHART <br />by Linda Waite Smith, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At a special City Council meeting on September 15, 1997, the Council made a number of <br />decisions related to personnel: changing the title of the Recording Secretary to Deputy <br />City Clerk; establishing a Community Development Assistant position that reports to the <br />City Engineer; establishing a half-time, non-sworn position that reports to the Police <br />Chief and assists the Police and other departments with vehicle maintenance and other <br />tasks; and establishing a full-time Fire Chief position that will supervise the Fire <br />Department and the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />The attached organization chart reflects the adopted changes. The title change and the <br />Community Development Assistant position take effect immediately. The other positions <br />will begin on or after January 1, 1998. <br /> <br />Staff recommendation: <br /> <br />Adopt the attached organizational chart which has been revised to reflect recent personnel <br />changes made by City Council. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />CC: 9/23/97 <br /> <br /> <br />
