§ 8.30 <br /> <br />3. The size of the effluent dose shall be determined by design of <br /> the soil treatment ;=n~t, but in no case shall the dosing <br /> ah~rnber be sized to provide a dose ofless than 76 gallons. <br /> <br /> Dosing I)evi ,egs.. For Gravity <br /> <br />1. A pump or siphon shall deliver the dose to the soil treatment <br /> un/t for gravity distribution over the soil treatment 5rea. <br /> <br />2. For systems for dwellings, the dosing device shall discharge <br /> at ]east 600 gallons per hour, but no more than 2,700 gallons <br /> per hour. <br /> <br />3. For other establishments, the dosing device should discharge <br /> at a rate at ]east 10go greater than the water supply flow rate, <br /> but no faster than the rate at which eftluent will flow out of <br /> the distribution device. <br /> <br />If the dosing device is a siphon, a maintenance inspection <br />shall be made every six months and a report shall be filed <br />with the adm~rdstrator. The siphon shall be maintained in <br />proper operating., condition. <br /> <br />If the dosing device is a p~r~p, it shall be cast iron or bronze <br />fitted and with Atm~ntess steel screws or constructed of other <br />sound, durab]e and corrosion°resistant materials. <br /> <br />V~ere the soil treatment area is at a higher elevation than <br />the p.mp, sufScient dynar~c head shall be provided for both <br />the elevation HiCerence and friction loss. <br /> <br />Vv~here the dosing device is a pump, an alarm device shall be <br />installed to warn of p.mp failure. For dwellings, there <br />should be reserve storage vol-me equal to one day's sewage <br />flow based on the sanounts specified for nuznber of bedrooms <br />in §8.30.04 Subd. 3c.
