Councilmember <br />adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #97-10- . <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING .NEED FOR THE ANOKA COUNTY HOUSING <br />AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TO EXERCISE ITS POWERS TO <br />LEVY TAXES IN THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment <br />Authority to levy taxes in the City of Ramsey only if the City of Ramsey and the Ramsey <br />Economic Development Authority have adopted resolutions declaring that there is a need <br />for the Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment Authority to exercise its powers in <br />the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council has established that there is a potential <br />need for senior housing in the community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council has allocated 1997 Community <br />Development Block Grant funds for the purpose of retaining a consultant to perform a <br />senior housing needs assessment in the community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council believes a partnership with the Anoka <br />County Housing and Redevelopment Authority can be beneficial to providing senior <br />housing or other related HRA activities in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 469.005, subd. 1, the City of Ramsey declares that <br />there is a need for the Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment Authority to <br />exercise its powers to levy taxes in the City of Ramsey for such projects as may <br />be approved by the City of Ramsey, with a focus on housing for senior citizens. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following <br />voted in favor th,: :'eof: <br /> <br />and the following voted' aga~inst the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />IiI <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> <br />
