Moreover, the displays of multi -pack <br />cigarettes in our stores are located right near the cash register where they are watched by <br />our cashiers. We do not have a problem with theft of tobacco products in our stores, <br />The state law is sufficient to guard against minors attempting to steal tobacco products. <br />We want to work with the city council and the local police to make sure that the state law <br />is administered and enforced. Please allow the state law requirements on displays to <br />work. The City of Hopkins just adopted an ordinance several weeks ago following the <br />state law on displays and the Cottage Grove City Council is also supporting a similar <br />ordinance that allows self-service displays of multi -packs and cartons.
