§ 8.30
I]
b) In every case, sufficient area shall be provided for at
least two bedrooms in dwellings.
c) For systems other than household systems, the -equired
treatment area shall be based upon gallons of waste per
day. The required treatment area may be reduced, for
trenches only, by the following percentages: 20% for 12
inches of filter materials below the 'distribution pipe;
34% for 18 inches; and 40`3b for 24 inches. The filter
material shall completely encase the disposal pipes to a
depth of at least 2 inches.
d) Soil is unsuitable for standard system if percolation rate
is less than 0.1 minute per inch.
e) Special requirem -ants for treatment units for problem
soils with this percolation range. For soils having more
than 50% of very fine sand by weight, plus fine sand
having a particle size range of 0.05 millimeters (sieve
size 270) to 0.25 millimeters (sieve size 60), the required
soil treatment area is 1.67 square feet per gallon of
sewage flow per day.
1. On slopes in excess of 12%, the soil profile shall be carefully
evaluated in the location of the proposed soil treatment area
and downslope to identify the presence of layers with
different permeabilities that may cause sidehill seepage. In
no case shall a trench be located within 15 feet of where such
a layer surfaces on the downslope.
2. Bed construction shall be limited .to areas having natural
slopes of less than 6%.
3.
