I
FC CASE # %
AUTHORIZE MATCHING FUNDING FOR THE ANOKA COUNTY CENTRAL
RECORDS PROJECT
By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer and Dave Gustafson, Police Chief
Background:
The City of Ramsey has been a participative party in the Anoka County Central Rec ds Project
which was established in an attempt to come up with technology solutions th will llow the
entire county access on a central records system. The study was funded by $400 grant that
was received by the County and requires a match of $5,000.
Anoka County is requesting all of the jurisdictions participating in the study for a voluntary
' contribution towards the matching funds. The group presented several options, one of which was
to allocate the contributions based on the number of calls received by central communications.
The City of Ramsey represents approximately 4.5% of the calls processed by central
communications which would result in a voluntary contribution of $225.00. A copy of the
options is attached showing the calculations.
This amount could be funded through the professional services line item of the data processing
budget.
Staff Recommendation:
Z Staff recommends that the voluntary amount of $225 be paid to the County as our share of the -
matching funds for the Anoka County Central Records Project and that this money be allocated
from the professional services line in the data processing budget for 1997.
Co
mmittee Action:
Motion to recommend City Council authorize a contribution of $225 towards the matching funds
for the study being done for the Anoka County Central Records Project and that these funds are
to be allocated from the professional services line in the data processing budget for 1997.
IReviewed By:
Acting -City Administrator
Finance Officer
Police Chief
FC: 11/25/97
1 a39
