Case #2 <br /> <br /> 1997 LAWFUL GAMBLING FUND <br />By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The purpose of this case is to review the Lawful Gambling Fund proposals for project year 1997. <br />Two organizations expressed interest during 1996-1997. Both submitted proposals which are <br />attached. <br /> <br />As the Commission will recall, last year two different proposers were to split the $3,000 in <br />available funds, however, neither project went forward. As was the case in 1995, the 1996 funds <br />remained in the Lawful Gambling Fund account-continuing to draw interest. (The 1996 status <br />ledger is attached.) <br /> <br />Process: <br /> <br />After the Park and Recreation Commission has agreed to the details of the project and approved it, <br />Staff will provide the applicant written acknowledgment and at the same time inform City Council. <br /> <br />Observation: <br /> <br />Both projects appear to have merit, and meet the terms of the program, and both can probably be <br />funded given the $4,000 available. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Approve project(s) by motion pursuant to any detail or modifications agreed to between the <br />applicant and the Commission. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Officer <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br /> <br />P&R: 2/13/97 <br /> <br />/kas <br /> <br /> <br />
