Case #3 <br /> <br />1997 ENVIRONMENTAL EXPO AND TREE SALE <br />By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />For the past 22 years, the City of Ramsey has sponsored a Tree Sale for its residents. Seven years <br />ago an "Environmental Exposition" was added to the event. <br /> <br />Observation: <br /> <br />The purpose of this case is to invite the Park and Recreation Commission to participate in the <br />event. The suggestion would be to have one or more Commissioners staff a booth/table to provide <br />information to residents visiting the festival. <br /> <br />Commissioners could divide the 9:00 to 2:30 period into shifts also. <br /> <br />The booth would be outfitted with maps, aerial photos and other information. Perhaps one thing <br />that would be timely, and of interest to the public, is the Alpine Park's development and the 1997 <br />Capital Improvement Program. <br /> <br />Another value of the Commission's presence would be to continue to gather information on <br />resident's views on park and open space issues. <br /> <br />Should the Commission be interested in the above, one or more Commissioners might consider <br />attending the next planning meeting.
