PROPOSED ORDINANCE #96- <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE <br />"ZONING AND SUBDIVISION OF LAND" CHAPTER OF THE CITY <br />CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 9.15 "TOWERS", OF CHAPTER 9 <br />OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />9.15.01 DEFINITIONS <br /> <br /> The following words and terms when used in this Chapter shah have the following <br />meanings unless the context clearly states otherwise: <br /> <br /> Antenna - Any structure or device used for the purpose of collecting or <br />transmitting electromagnetic waves, including but not limited to directional antennas, such <br />as panels, microwave dishes, and satellite dishes, and omni-directional antennas, such as <br />whip antennas. <br /> <br /> Commercial Wireless Telecommunication Services . Licensed commercial <br />wireless telecommunication services including cellular, personal communication services <br />(PCS), specialized mobili~'.ed radio (SMR), enhanced specialized mobilized radio (ESMR), <br />paging, and similar services that are marketed to the general public. <br /> <br /> Tower . Any ground or roof mounted pole, spire, structure, or combination <br />thereof, including supporting lines, cables, wires, braces, and masts, intended primarily <br />for the purpose of mounting an antenna, meteorological device, or similar apparatus above <br />grade. <br /> <br /> Communication Tower, Guyed . A tower that is supported, in whole or in <br />part by wires and ground anchors. <br /> <br /> Communication Tower, Monopole - A tower consisting of a single pole, <br />constructed without guyed wires and anchors. <br /> <br /> Communication Tower, Lattice or Self-Support - A tower that has three <br />or four sides of open-framed steel supports. <br /> <br /> Height of a Communication Antenna or Tower The height of a <br />freestanding communication antenna or tower is determined as the distance from ground <br />level to the highest point on the tower, including the antenna. <br /> <br /> Height of a Roof or Wail Mounted Antenna or Tower - The height of a <br />communication antenna that is mounted on a roof or wall shall be measured from the point <br />where the base of the antenna and its supporting structure appends to the roof or wall to the <br />highest point of the supporting structure, including the antenna. <br /> <br /> <br />
