PlannJng Proposal £or: <br />Mississippi West Regional Park <br /> <br />Anoka County Department of Parks and Recreation <br /> <br />Master Plan Content Requirements - Information on the Ten Sections <br /> <br /> Listed and discussed below are the ten information sections for the masfer plan as outlined by the <br />Recreation Open Space,Development Guide / Policy_ Plan of 1991. <br /> <br />1. Boundary and Acqu/sition Costs <br /> <br /> Anoka County does not anticipate any additional acquisition costs or boundary changes associated <br />with the development of Mississippi West Regional Park. <br /> <br />2. Stewardskip Plan <br /> <br /> The Anoka County Department of Parks and Recreation shows their commitment to and <br />understanding of regional parks by their on-going development, programming, and maintenance of Lake <br />George, Riverfront, Rice Creek-Chain of Lakes, Bunker t-Y. dls, and Coon Rapids Dam regional parks. The <br />largest portion of Mississippi West Regional Park is a land ~ fi-om private individuals. Since March of <br />1988, the Anoka County Department of Parks and Recreation and the individuals giffing the land have had <br />a legal agreement outlining the land stewardship for the park prior to its development. The agreement <br />outlined the following: <br /> <br />a. snowplowing internal park roads <br />b. grass cutting along park road and residents <br />c. retaining one of the residents as a park caretaker with an annual service contract <br />d. construction of boundary fencing to prevent unauthorized access <br />e. constmc'tion and maintenance of well water to residents <br /> <br />The resident - park caretaker performs the following park related work: <br /> <br />a. tree planting and maintenance <br />b. monitoring unauthorized park uses <br />c. establishment and maintenance of a walking/ firebreak trail <br /> <br />Annual Stewardship Costs <br /> <br /> Listed below are the annual stewardship costs associated with maintaining Mississippi West <br />Regional Park prior to development: <br /> <br /> Boundary Control -~ fencing and signing <br /> Grass Mowing and Snow Removal <br /> Equipment Maintenance <br />Park Caretaker Annual Service Contract <br /> <br />$2,000.00 <br /> <br />$4,000.00 <br /> <br />$1,500.00 <br /> <br />$4,000.00 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br /> <br />
