Sweep and mop warming house before leaving shift and pick up all debris.

Push nets off rinks and out of gate openings.

Utilize the attendants daily log sheet to communicate all non-emergency or non-confidential
information to the Parks/Utilities Supervisor.

Account for and put away all tools and equipment before leaving shift.

Light rinks according to time and weather conditions.

Assist with rink scheduling.

You are personally responsible for keys issued to you and must return them at end of season.
Allow n o o n e to use your keys.

Secure premises before leaving!

Flooding And Snow Removal

Each rink is swept and flooded each business day. Rinks will not, however, be flooded during or
immediately after a snowfall, during extreme cold weather, during extreme warm weather, or if
high winds are present. It is the rink attendants responsibility to ensure no skaters or hockey goals
are on the rink that the City maintenance equipment is working on. After sweeping, the attendant
will shovel the margin of snow around the boards so that maintenance staff may flood the rink.

Attendance and Bonus Incentive

You are responsible for the rink and wanning house during the hours you are scheduled to work.
Substitutes will be used only in case of emergencies. All substitutes must be other employed rink
attendants and must be approved by the Parks/Utilities Supervisor prior to any changes. If an
emergency arises and you cannot reach a substitute, contact your supervisor.

Each rink attendant requesting to be eligible in the City's bonus program must sign a copy of the
Rink Attendant Guide prior to the end of their first work shift.

If requested, the bonus program is available to rink attendants at the end of the skating season.
Upon satisfactory completion in two separate areas of job performance, a bonus of 10¢ and/or 15¢
will be paid for each hour worked.

Tier I Bonus:

10¢ per hour worked for satisfactory attendance, including being on time,
minimizing scheduling changes and, to a lessor degree, assisting others by filling in
on short notice situations.

Tier II Bonus:

15¢ per hour worked for satisfactory, and better, performance of the details
outlined in the Rink Attendant Guide and minimizing calls for assistance for
situations where the resources are available for solving the problem at hand.
Professionalism, courtesy, and helpfulness on the pan of the attendant, toward the
public, are important criteria in earning this Tier II bonus.
