CASE #1 1999-2003 PARKS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (C.I.P.) By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor Background: At the November Park and Recreation Commission meeting, there was discussion on the proposed community center in Year 2002, in relation to Anoka's aquatic center funding request. It was determined that the Commission should review the 1999-2002 portion of the C.I.P. for potential modifications, then consider a request of City Council for a joint meeting to discuss the C.I.P. (As you will recall, the Council and Commission have been meeting each year to address various issues.) Observations: The Commission-recommended Five Year C.I.P. (last revised 7-97) is attached. Year 1990 of the C.I.P. was approved by City Council's Finance Committee in August of this year. The 1998 C.I.P. request will formally be a part of the entire 1998 budget when approved later this month. The latest information on the "Community Park #5" purchase will be available at the meeting. Staff recommends a review of the last four years of the C.I.P. for potential amendments and a determination on the need and scope of a joint meeting with City Council.
