4) Discussion of Policy for Processing Traffic Calming Requests <br /> <br /> Mr. Jankowski reported that the Committee did not have time to review this case and it will be <br /> placed on their next agenda, <br /> <br /> Case #8: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br /> 1) Preview of Personnel Activities for 1997 <br /> <br /> Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith stated that the Personnel Committee reviewed the <br /> calendar of major events and compliance reports that are required in the area of human resources <br /> during the year 1997, <br /> <br /> MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br /> 1) Resignation Letter - Police Chief Mike Auspos <br /> <br /> Chief Auspos presented Council with a letter of his intent to retire on February 28, 1997. He stated <br /> he would be active in choosing the next chief. <br /> <br /> The Mayor and Council each commended Chief Auspos on his excellent service for the past 24 <br /> years, <br /> <br /> 2) Police Building - Recognition of Ryan Schroeder <br /> <br /> Chief Auspos asked that City Administrator Ryan Schroeder be recognized and commended for the <br /> job he did with the police building and working with the Police staff on it. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Beyer asked that Arlene Stafford also be recognized for her decorating and that <br /> Jim Balabon be recognized for the benches he made for the foyer. <br /> <br /> 3) Ferry Street Bridge Project <br /> <br /> City Administrator Schroeder stated that he attended a meeting with the City of Anoka and MnDOT <br /> where discussion of the Ferry Street Bridge project and other related projects took place. All have <br /> agreed that this should be four lanes but there are still some details to be worked out. MnDOT is <br /> saying this is workable for the year 2000. <br /> <br /> 4) Fund Raiser - Mediation Services <br /> <br /> City Administrator Schroeder announced a dinner and play fund raiser for Anoka County <br /> Mediation Services. Councilmember Haas Steffen is appearing in the play. <br /> <br /> 5) Board of Review <br /> <br /> City Administrator Schroeder announced that the Board of Review is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., <br /> April 9, 1997. <br /> <br /> 6) New Furnishings <br /> <br /> City Administrator Schroeder stated that at the December 10, 1996 meeting, Council authorized the <br /> purchase of the new furnishings in Administrative Services, the Police Department, Finance <br /> Department, etc. The carpeting will be coming also and all of this wilt be done in stages. <br /> <br />M2'~, City Council/January 14, 1997 <br /> Pa~e 12 of 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
