We may, perhaps, want to subscribe to the "out of sight - out of mind" theory.

Harold Bauer - 7910 156th Avenue - said that he occasionally brings home a three-quarter tom
truck for work and must be on call 24 hours each day for emergencies.

Commissioner Hendriksen cited that the reason for tight restrictions on accessory structures in
residential areas is to control commercial activities in the residential districts.

Zoning Administrator Frolik made a point for flexibility in the screening requirement.

Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Holland to accept 75% opacity
screening.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Hendriksen,
Holland, LaDue, Terry, and Thomd. Voting No: None.

Commission consensus was to add another option to allow a special permit process for those who
could not comply with the amended ordinance as it will be spelled out.

Chairperson Bawden recessed the meeting at 9:10 p.m.

Chairperson Bawden reconvened the meeting at 9:22 p.m.

It was agreed to by the Commission that the proposed amendment should read as follows:

In the City of Ramsey no outside storage of any motor vehicle or equipment shall be permitted,
EXCEPT as follows:

1. Currently licensed vehicles may be stored outside.

2. One unlicensed motor vehicle may be stored outside, only on a bituminous paved,
concrete, con bit, or prepared gravel, or other City approved equivalent surface.

3. Equipment, the primary purpose of which is for residential/private transportation use or
personal or recreational use, may be stored outside.

4. Commemial motor vehicles and commercial equipment may be stored outside only under
the following conditions:

Planning Commission/November 30, 1995
