I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> ! <br />I <br />! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Wally Pelto, one of the owners of Automated E.D.M., explained that they are a wire electronic <br />discharge machining shop with 25 employees. <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden inquired about curbing, and Ms. Frolik replied that it was inadvertently <br />omitted by Automated E.D.M. and will be added to the site plan. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer questioned the lighting plan. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik responded that City Code does not have specific lighting requirements, but it has been <br />policy to require that lighting be directed vertically and the luminaire be shielded so that the light <br />source is not visible from the street. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer commented that typical wall pack lighting generally does not meet City <br />requirements, and he inquired as to whether this would be reviewed by the Business Park 95 <br />Architectural Review Board. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik stated that it would be reviewed by that Board. <br /> <br />Ed Sorgatz, contractor for this project, responded that if a specific standard needs to be met with <br />regard to lighting, they will comply. <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden noted that the intent is to prevent light from going out into the street. <br /> <br />Commissioner Thorud inquired if landscaping was covered by the covenants of Business Park 95, <br />and Ms. Frolik replied yes. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Terry to recommend that City <br />Council grant site plan approval to Automated E.D.M. based upon discussion and City Staff <br />review letter dated November 25, 1995. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Terry, Hendriksen, <br />Holland, LaDue, and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Request for Sketch Plan Review of Juskiewicz Addition; Case of Mr. <br />Edwin Juskiewicz <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen announced that as a citizen he has been very involved with certain <br />issues relating to Haubrich Addition and Fox Knoll Addition which precipitated the platting of the <br />Juskiewicz Addition, and if the applicant desires he will abstain from discussion and voting on this <br />case. <br /> <br />Mr. Juskiewicz stated he had no problem with Commissioner Hendriksen participating as a <br />Commissioner in this case. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik reported that Mr. Edwin Juskiewicz is requesting sketch plan review <br />of a minor subdivision to replat Lot 2, Block 1 and Lot 1, Block 2 of Haubrich Addition into 8 <br />urban residential lots, which includes the homestead. This plat results from a petition for the <br />extension of sewor and water improvements to Haubrich Addition. All residential lots in the plat <br />meet the minimum area and dimensional requirements for urban residential lots. City Staff <br />recommends approval of this minor subdivision. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski asserted that this subdivision was anticipated when sewer and water were <br />extended to this area, and stubs were prepared.
